MeritumPraxis is operated by MeritumPraxis (Pty) Ltd, a South African company. The platform serves two audiences: **candidates** (job-seekers, freelancers, students) and **organizations** (employers, recruiters, non-profits).

Core differentiators:
- **Verified references**: Every skill a candidate lists can be verified by a named referee via a secure one-time email link. Verified skills carry a visible badge on the candidate's profile.
- **Digital professional file**: Candidates present themselves as a folder of tabs (Profile, Skills, Education, Experience, Portfolio) — designed to feel like a physical folder recruiters used to review in-person.
- **On-platform messaging**: Organizations message candidates directly; candidates reply from their dashboard.
- **Payment methods**: EFT (South African bank transfer) and PayPal, with an admin-verified proof-of-payment flow.
